Wonderland

A magical festive show made with and for older adults, including those living with Dementia.

"We absolutely loved the performance. It was so different and the interaction was fab!"

Sharon McIntosh - Activity Coordinator
Harper Fields Care Home, Coventry

Wonderland sees three performers surprise, intrigue and delight, blending live music, dance, audience interactions and extravagant costumes to conjure up a sack-load of festive fun. A gift that keeps on giving, Wonderland includes records playing, snowball fights, tap dancing, violin playing, shiny bows galore and much much more! The show was made in collaboration with care home residents and staff to ensure it is highly engaging and inclusive for an older audience. It includes invitations for audiences to sing, dance and play along with performers, targeting different senses and appropriate adaptations have been considered for all participation elements.

New for 2025! We are excited to be gearing up for touring Wonderland in December 2025. As well as touring the standard version of the show, this year we'll also be offering a larger, 6 person version for public spaces and a promenade/ one to one version for bedside, corridors, or anywhere really!

Reviews

I used to love going to the theatre but we don’t get chance to see things like this anymore

Care Home Resident

I have had such lovely feedback. You were amazing and the patients really enjoyed it.

Megan Dawes - Arts Coordinator, Nottingham University Hospitals

It felt like proper Christmas, like proper old Christmas, you just don’t get that anymore

Staff Member, Park House Care Home

I enjoyed that so much, it really was the best thing I’ve seen. It was so spontaneous and it just sort of happened

Audience Member, Age UK Sheffield

That was just absolutely brilliant and it was the interaction with the audience, the way you go around them and the one to one interaction is what its all about in care homes. We’ve had other shows in but they just don’t interact like that with the audience

Activity Coordinator, Ashgate Care Home

My Mum hasn’t walked in 6 months and today is the first time she’s walked, so she could get to the day room to see the show
